As a member of the Board of Directors, you are required to take the following steps required to finalize your position:

As a Director, you are required to have a current USA Hockey confirmation number.  This is  free by registering as an "ice manager/volunteer" through USA Hockey.   If you plan on coaching this season, please register as a "coach" as you would normally.  Note:  You also need your USA Hockey number to complete step number 3. 

All Directors must pass the USA Hockey  background screening process every two years.  USA Hockey will charge $30 (US Citizens) for each background check completed.  Board members must pay for this up front but  WFHA will reimburse all Board of Directors that complete this process.

USA Hockey SafeSport is the organization's program related to off-ice safety. Your participation in SafeSport is imperative to the safety and success of the players and our association.   You will need to register and complete all certifications, which will take over an hour depending on your level of knowledge and engagement.   If you have previously certified, you will simply need to be re-certified annually, which should only take you 15-20 minutes to complete. 

This certification is FREE to all participants. 

This will also allow you to sign off on your Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest statement.  There will also be a step to submit your reimbursement request for the costs you incur during this process.
